Duente is a 43-year old Richmond resident who uses a wheelchair full-time due to MS. He lives alone and after being discharged from rehab, is learning to navigate by himself and be as independent as possible. To get to doctors’ appointments, Duente had to use the rescue squad. He was unable to leave the house otherwise.
On Tuesday, March 7, two RampsRVA staff members (Barry and Anne) and first-time volunteer Karen changed all that with the construction of a ramp. Duente’s world became a lot bigger, safer, and easier as he tested out the ramp with a huge smile on his face. And a big thank you to Karen, whose hard work and natural mechanical skills made the process go smoothly!
