Story

On a rainy Saturday, the Midlothian RAMPS Club was fortunate to get a brief respite from the rain to build a ramp for David.  David is a 71 year old gentleman who has had a stroke.  He is also in early stages of Alzheimer’s disease, and is on dialysis three times a week.  In fact, he was not feeling fantastic the day we built his ramp, so his wife, Purlean, kindly sat on the ramp in her husband’s wheelchair and talked with the group.

She told us she has been struggling to get him in and out, and in fact, had been using the milk crates (which you can just see in the corner of the photo) to try to keep his chair level as she would lower him step be step.  We are certain using the ramp will be MUCH safer and less stressful for all involved in David’s care.
