Story

Susan is a young woman who lives alone.  She is battling cancer and has a result, relies on a motor scooter for mobility.  She rents a one bedroom apartment in Richmond, and based on the location of her door, is not able to receive a permanent ramp structure.  Any ramp must be removable so it does not impede any other resident’s as they walk by her apartment.

With the help of Brent Solomon from NBC12, we were able to do a little “out of the box” thinking on this ramp and provided her with an aluminum portable ramp.  This ramp is light enough for her to put down, and then pick it up when she does not need it, successfully addressing what had proven to be a significant challenge before RAMPS became involved and provided exactly the right fix!
