Thank you to the fantastic Tucker High School volunteers who gave up their Saturday to build it, and raised funds towards its completion.
Ms. W is a 78-year old woman who uses a wheelchair full-time. She was recently released from rehab, and has a broken hip, diabetes, and multiple back surgeries. Her elderly husband is her caregiver.
After several re-adjustments and adaptations to accommodate the uneven topography and a big beautiful tree near the front steps, the students tightened the last bolt and watched as Mr. and Ms. W took a successful test run. They were both thrilled that they no longer need another person to help her out, and that this ramp will open many doors to independence.
Thank you Himasi, Vindhya, Sasmita, Kennedy, Lauren and Joseph.
