Yay! Saturday was our first build with the club from Patrick Henry High School (in Ashland) as volunteers! We are so excited to have added Hanover to our service area (in addition to Richmond, Henrico and Chesterfield). The mighty team from Patrick Henry was eager to build a ramp for a Hanover resident, Mr. W., who lives in Beaverdam.
Robert is a 76 year old man with multiple health problems. Since he needs a wheelchair to get around most of the time, he was struggling to maneuver the steps. His daughter lives in the house with him and is his helper, and it was very unsafe and a big struggle for her to help him down the steps.
A big thank you and congrats for a job well done to the Patrick Henry team on their first build. Thanks Chloe, Erin, Ryan, Carter Lee, Abby, Evie Mae, Hannah, Natalie and Naomi for giving the gift of safety and mobility to this family.
