Welcome Henrico High School to the RampsRVA team and congrats on successfully completing your first build today! Mr. W is an Eastern Henrico resident who lives by himself. He has had a stroke, has COPD, and has recently suffered repeated falls that made maneuvering his steps impossible. Today, he wheeled down his new ramp and celebrated an early Independence Day. Thank you for your hard work and dedication, Henrico HS volunteers - Sriram, Arjun, Sriya, Jithesh, Jamal, Aliza, RIshi, and Aadit - you have given Mr. W the gift of independence, mobility, and safety. Here's to many more great builds!
Students from the Henrico Ramps Club spent several hours refurbishing ramp materials so they can be reused on future ramp builds.
The Henrico club was new in 2023.
The club members have raised some funds towards their first build and also participated in community events to create awareness for the need of permanent wheelchair users that cannot afford a ramp.
